1. Ms. J. Chetri, proxy counsel for Mr. I.H. Saikia, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. B. Pathak, learned BSNL counsel representing the respondents are present.
2. At the outset of argument, Mr. B. Pathak, learned BSNL counsel submits that the matter can be disposed of as the very issue of the matter of the applicants is pending before the Board of Directors. Accordingly, Mr. Pathak has drawn our attention to para 7 of their written statement which says that the representations filed by the applicants were taken into consideration and the matter was referred to the Corporate Office, New Delhi for necessary consideration and decision to be taken at the highest level by the competent authority and also sought advice to that extent as to whether grant of 5 advance increments may be extended to the applicants as evident from Annexure-7 and 9 dated 20.12.2017 and 29.01.2018 respectively. The said communications dated 20.12.2017 and 29.01.2018 are yet to be decided and considered by the Board of Directors and the decision is awaited.
3. In view of the above, without going into the merit of the case, we direct the respondent authorities more particularly Board of Directors, who is the competent authority, to consider the representations of the applicants and take a decision within a period of three months from the date of receipt copy of this order.
